Most of us (developers) have problems deciding which code editor is the better, which is the most used and the easier one, but what about us?
When I start in this Job, someone told me about Scribes a simple and clean
code text editor, I install it and with this begins my journey to find the perfect editor (for me).
Something that I love about this editor was the manage of the memory, it only use it a little because is very light and doesn’t have a lot of fancy stuff like some other IDEs like Eclipse (a great IDE if the memory is not an issue for you).
Other one that I try was Zend Studio, this one for me was amazing, because I use to code a lot using Zend Framework, have a lot of features specially designed for this, but it have the same issue as Eclipse… the memory.
After try several more, I give a chance to one that was just starting, named Sublime Text, not an IDE, not with a lot of fancy stuff, but very interesting, with the time, the creator add more features, and also the community start to create a lot of plugins to transform this simple text editor in a powerful and amazing Code Editor, for this is one of the more amazing IDE (actually I don’t now if this is an IDE or not, well just an amazing and powerful text editor).
With sublime you can add a lot of plugins, create your own (using python), create snippets and a lot of stuff, also, you can integrate xdebug with it and debug your code with this “Text Editor”, this is really amazing.
So, for conclusion, doesn’t matter which one is the better for the others, the important thing here is that helps you to code better, faster and you love it! hahaha
